Isaiah 41:10

Come Be a Part of the Journey

Whether you were raised in the tradition or are discovering it for the first time, Debre Hail Kedus Gabriel welcomes you. Come stand where prayers rise like incense, where ancient faith is alive, and where you will always find a home.

Rooted in centuries of Ethiopian Orthodox tradition, Debre Hail Kedus Gabriel Cathedral was established by a devoted immigrant community in Washington, D.C., as a spiritual home away from home. Since its founding in the 1980s, the cathedral has grown into a vibrant center of worship, culture, and fellowship—uniting generations through prayer, liturgy, and service.

Our doors are open to all who seek faith, heritage, and belonging. Located at 2601 Evarts St. NE, we invite you to join us in preserving the sacred teachings of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and celebrating the living legacy of Kedus Gabriel.
